Artist's Description
Nova Scotia is a favorite travel destination for B.L. Ander, as is is for many. Peggy's Cove is one of the more rustic fishing villages along the Atlantic sea coast, probably one of the most photographed and painted settings as well.
About Brent Ander
Creation turns me on. From a blank surface to the finished work of art, it's the process that feeds my soul. To me, art is a lifestyle, a compulsion and a passion. With a formal education in the arts spanning over eight years and an apprenticeship lasting two, I found myself addicted to the learning process. Now after more than forty years of practice, I still consider myself a perpetual student of art. In my opinion, to stop learning would be tantamount to artistic stagnancy. . . so, the exploration continues. My WEB Sites : Ander Expressions Fine Art & Ander Photography. Love this! What paper do you use for colored pencil?
Brent Ander
Kathy, thanks for the nice comment. I usually use a medium tooth paper with Prismacolor pencils for detailed color drawings. For this level of detail the pencils must be kept very sharp, which often means they are nubs in no time, especially when you consider that a picture like this one take around 400 hours to complete.

Brent, this is wonderful. This is so real I thought it was a photograph. There is such detail and I love the boats tied together. I see them as mother and child. The reflection is excellent as well.

Superb work! May I ask what surface you do your colored pencils on? Are these polychromo pencils? Very inspiring!!
